cises this morning. Thirty-one boys
and girls received their diplomas.
The event will never be forgotten
by the High Tide editor, who allowed
himself to be inveigled into giving
the commencement address. As an
orator, the editor makes a fine carrier
boy. His speech-making career began
and ended suddenly, for after the
grot·esque effort of this morning, the
great demand for his services in this
regard has suddenly fallen off!

crease, according to a bulletin re-
leased this week by Frank Miratti,
Jr., of Santa Barbara, president of
the California Mission Trails asso-
ciation.
"Nowhere in California is there · a
greater variety of scenery to be en-
joyed than on the "Mission Trails,"
declares Miratti.
"Here are the giant redwoods of
the Santa Cruz Big Tree Grove,
beautiful Monterey Peninsula, fertile
Salinas Valley, the Pinnacles, Mt.
Hamilton and the orchard lands of
Santa Clara county, Paso Robles (the
pass of the oaks) and its hot springs;
charming Atascadero with its estates
and Santa Margarita with its gar-
dens; Morro Bay and Cambria Fines;
Pismo Beach with its miles of surf-
fringed strand; San Luis Obispo, rich
in history; Santa Maria and Lompoc
Valley, fragrant with flowers; Santa
Barbara, a veritable playground de
luxe; Ventura with its historical rel-
ics and beach, and many other points
of interest.
