This is a two story gtructure - the first story being partially a basement
and carport, and partially an apartment (230 17th). The gabled roof is
shingled and has a chimney with 2 banded cornices. The house is covt ced with
horizontal aiding, except for the fishecale shingles under one gable. The
general plan of the house is asymme trical due to a back and front porch and
a wing extending over the carport - which must have been a carriage shelter
at one time. A flat roof projects from the cornice line of themain roof and
covers a square bay and small front porch. The porch has an saymmetrical
lattice design for its balustrade, 4 supporting posts for the roof with
carved corner brackets. The windows 1/1. have small flat hoods.
