I am happy to report that I found a clipping file
entry on Sarah Thompson at the Pacific Grove Public
Library today. I did not read the article, taken from
12 February 1921 Monterey Daily Cypress. You will
have something to find when you get here. I did not
check John Thompson.
The Heritage society has various files nearby to the
library. We do not have college-level libraries
nearby. The Heritage society is open Saturdays 1-4
PM. The history room at the Monterey Library is also
worth a look-see.
You asked about newspapers. There were too many. The
Heritage society was given the 'hard copies' when the
public library went to microfilm. I have spent many
hours scanning the newspapers in the Heritage
society's reading room.
Give me advance notice of your visit plans and I will
make sure everything is available.
For background reading on our little town, there is
only one book, Piney Paradise, by Lucy MacLean(sp?).
Hope to hear from you,
