Nevada Writers Hall of Fame: Lucius Beebe 10/15/200701:03 PM on American railroads and Western Americana. Beebe also wrote for such national magazines as American Heritage, Gourmet, Holiday, Newsweek, Playboy, and Saturday Review. From 1960 until his death, Beebe wrote a weekly column for the San Francisco Chronicle, "This W#d West." Clegg was Board Chairman of the Lucius M. Beebe Memorial Foundation after Beebe's death. A highly civilized non-conformist, Beebe thought of himself as a Renaissance Man and a true snob and was recognized as a legend in his own lifetime.
