for Mary Jeanne Makoviney of
Shelton. She died in Shelton on
February 6 after a two-year battle
With cancer. She was 57.
She was born in San Diego, Cali-
fornia, on February 20, 1935 to
John Joseph Melega and Dora
gCanfield) Wallace, She was raised
in Elma,
She was married in Elmato Don
Makoviney on January 24, 1953.
She and her husband, Don, lived
for six years at Camp Grisdale,
where she spent some of the hap-
piest years ofher life. They moved

After she had five children, Mrs.
Makoviney returned to school at
Shelton High School, graduating
in 1973 with her son, Duane. One
of the accomplishments during her
return to high school was the
designingof her own home in draft-
ing class.
She loved to garden and fish in
the out-of-doors. She was a dedi-
cated homemaker, wife, mother
and grandmother. She was bap-
tized a Jehovah’s Witness on Octo-
ber 23, 1982.
She was preceded in death by
her mother, her father, her
brother, Tom Melega, in 1991 and
her infant daughter, Mary Ann, in
1963, Survivors include her husA
band, Don Makoviney of Shelton;
her daughters, Sharon Longan of
Shelton, Christine Morrison of
Shelton and Catherine Ann Brin-
son of Shelton; her son, Duane
Makoviney of Shelton; her grand-
children, Donald W. Makoviney of
Shelton, Karolyn J. LaMarsh of
Shelton, Debbie Makoviney of
Shelton, Diane D. Makoviney of
Shelton, Sarah F. Longan of Shel-
ton, Melissa Morrison of Shelton,
Michael D. Makoviney of Shelton,
Ashley C. Morrison of Shelton and
D. Jacob Brinson of Shelton; her
stepmother, Lena Melega of San
Diego; her brother, Jim Melega of
San Diego; her sisters, Yvonne
