Accession/Object ID: 2006.33.141, Object Name: Print, Photographic, Description: (#141) Juleen #741. Main Street, Silverton, Wash. [0d] [0a] [0d] [0a] Far left large house is identified on the back as Bell Melving's, then postmaster C.E. Anderson's center back, the train depot below it, then at the far right the hotel owned by the Holley's and then the Shedins. [0d] [0a] [0d] [0a] No identification of the darker colored building next to it (west). The Hartford Eastern track is visible to the left foreground, but no name plate on the depot. The rails were taken up ca. 1936, the highway constructed through in 1938, so this is prior to that. [0d] [0a] [0d] [0a] The Everett Public Library might be able to date the photo, as there are a number of late teen/early [91] 20s with that range of negative numbers. - per David Cameron, 2005 [0d] [0a] [0d] [0a] The building in the lower left is not the train depot. Extant pictures of the depot show it was clearly named, larger, and had a window on the West wall. this may have been a maintenance building. [0d] [0a] [0d] [0a] Also, there was no street on the Silverton Plat named Main. per Mary Deaton 2010, Granite Falls Historical Society,Photos,Museum Collection,General Photos,General Photos 12,Print, Photographic (2006.33.141),Print, Photographic (2006.33.141) 1, Print, Photographic (2006.33.141) 1
