Read more page 2 SEE C-Trail ON page 11 More than 200 high school students from all over Wash- ington State descended upon Cavelero Mid High School on Saturday, March 5 for the All Washington High School VEX Robotics Championship with the goal of qualifying for the World Championship Tourna- ment in Louisville, Kentucky. Fifty-seven teams from 21 different clubs or schools will came together for a non-stop, action-packed day of compe- tition where they will battled against each other with robots created from the VEX Robot- ics Design System. Participants played the game Nothing but Net, developed by VEX Robot- ics, Inc. and the Robotics Edu- cation & Competition (REC) Foundation, leaders in educa- tional and competitive robotics. Lake Stevens High School wins big at State RoboticsTournament, qualifies two teams to World ChampionshipTournament in Louisville, Kentucky CONTRIBUTED Before the state comple- tion had even started a V-Bots team had already qualified for worlds. Lake juniors Aiden Pyle, Ryan Sobosky, Andrew Dee- bach, Jordan Conner, and Sky- ler Bagher, 8931A The 5 Guys, won the Vex online challenge and received an invitation to the VEX Worlds tournament. They took first in an online de- sign challenge. Out of close to 150 different entries they pro- duced the highest quality web- site that promotes their club the C-Bots and V-Bots. The 5 Guys will be on the stage during the final presentations at the Worlds competition to accept this prestigious national award. During the state competition two more teams also received awards. Teammates Andrew Lake Stevens juniors Aiden Pyle, Ryan Sobosky, Andrew Deebach, Jordan Conner, and Skyler Bagher with their robot and mr. Mr. Miller. Over 200 runners of all ages, shapes and sizes lined up at the start line to chase the lepre- chaun on the Centennial Trail on Saturday, March 12. The Greater Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce hosts this annual event which is headed up by Kelly DuByne, The festive run included a 10K, 5K and a Kids Fun Run and every participant received a medal for finishing the race. Dozens of local businesses sponsored the event (see the ad on page 11) and many of those businesses participated in the race itself. “This event will help to in- crease Chamber visibility in the community as well as sup- porting chamber events and operation of  the chamber of- fice,” DuByne explained. “A portion of the proceeds will go towards the Stephen R.
