R05; L. Taft??? Robert L. Tafl: Srl, a resident of Grapeview for the past five years, died of cancer Thursday, April 9, at Mason General Hospital‘ He was 57. He was born April 29, 1940, in Tacoma to Charles and Mary (Clark) Taft. He graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma in 1958. He attended the Univer- sity of Puget Sound for two and a half years. He married Karen Sokolik in Seattle. They were married for 37 years. Mr, Taft served in the Marine Corps from 1959 to 1962 at Camp Pendelton in California He was an expert rifle and pistol marks man. He worked as sales manager for Glacier Beverage-Pepsi Cola, West Coast Groceries-Olympia Beer and Northwest Bottling<RC Cola. He was a member of the Boy Scouts for 12 years, was an Eagle Scout and served as a scoutmas— ter. Mr‘ Taft enjoyed classic cars, boating, dirt bikes, lawn care and gardening and collecting items from the 19503 and 19605. He is survived by wife Karen R Taft of Grapeview; son Robert Taft Jr of Port Orchard; daughter Kimberly Williams of Gig Harbor; sister Mary Kiel of Anacortes; and grandson Steven Taft.
