One week turn around time!
Purple ribbons were scat-
tered throughout town last
week as the annual Relay for
Life of Lake Stevens drew
near.
Local businesses, schools
and residents supported the
efforts of The American Can-
cer Society in not only rais-
ing awareness but also raising
money to help cure cancer.
The week started with Paint
the Town Purple where homes
and businesses were deco-
rated with purple ribbons and
paint.
Students at Mount Pilchuck
Elementary School walked
their track in 15 minute in-
crements. Throughout the
week the kids learned what
it means to have cancer and
why walks like the one held at
their school are so important
