Lake Stevens won’t be seeing a new
library, at least not for now. Low
voter turnout meant not enough
votes.

Creating the Washing-
ton state winning doddle for
Google’s Doodle 4 Google
competition was a huge sur-
prise for Lake Stevens High
School’s Isabel Marsh.
Marsh, a senior at the high
school, had her doodle, “Our
Friends, The Bees,” selected out
of hundreds of entries received
from Washington students.
Her doodle depicts her vision
of the bee population increas-
ing back to a healthy number
in the near future.
The character in Marsh’s
artwork is Dingo, an animal
friend she has created, not just
for this piece but others as well.
“I’m very private about Din-
go,” she said, which makes her
sharing with the world even
more amazing. “My ambition
s write a children’s book about
him.”
If you look closely at Marsh’s
creation you can see Dingo,
flowers in hand, encouraging
the bees to fly, which is in the
shape of the letter G and the
Marsh named Google’s state champ in doodle competition
