founded in 1991 and began as

Since then, Cocoon House
has grown into a full continu-
um of services. Through out-

ish County Executive), Joe Alonzo (Cocoon House Interim CEO),Mayor Cassie Franklin (City

Lindley (Kirtley-Cole Associates, LLC), MichaelWishkowski (GGLO Design).
Donation will allow Cocoon House to begin
construction on new facility serving homeless youth
and families in Snohomish County and beyond
and their families each year.
As the need for housing and
services has gown, the need
for a larger facility, expanded
services and programs has in-
creased as well.
Planning for the Colby Av-
enue Youth Center began in
2016 and Cocoon House lead-
ership and volunteers launched
a Capital Campaign to pay for
the center.
The original goal was to raise
$13 million to build a new
multi-functional facility de-
signed to support its seamless
continuum of care in one loca-
tion.
Due to increased expenses
and a rise in construction
costs, the project total in-
creased to $14.2 million, leav-
ing the Capital Campaign fund
with a deficit.
“We are honored to have
been identified and selected by
Premera for this special capi-
tal gift and for their continued
support of our programs.” said
Cocoon House Interim CEO
Joe Alonzo.
“We’ve worked with the team
at Premera and this investment
is truly going to save lives. The
health and safety of our youth
will continue to be our top
priority with the new youth
center.” Alonzo stated. “We
will have on-site mental health
services to address the indi-
vidual needs of youth and their
families, case management and
