dies at
Cushman
The death of a 69-year-old
woman who lived .between Hoods-
port and Lake Cushman was from
natural causes, said Mason Coun-
ty Coroner Martha Reed on Tues
day.
Anna Backman, who lived for
many years in Division 9 on Heli-
port Road, died of an apparent
cardiovascular event, said Reed.
The woman was found by her son,
Ronald Backman of Port Orchard,
who had come to repair her gen-
erator on Sunday.
At that time, Reed said, Mrs.
Backman had apparently been
dead only a matter of hours. “She
had an extensive history of peri-
pheral vascular disease,” the cor-
oner said
Mrs. Backman, Reed said,
lived alone in her motorhome
without a telephone or electricity.
