Lloyd Woolsey
Lloyd I‘Roy” Woolsey of McCle-
ary died April 4 at Mark E. Reed
Hospital in McCleary. He was 64.
Mr. Woolsey was born in Shelton
to Howard and Beatrice (Willis)
Woolsey on August 5, 1927. He
grew up in the Skokomish Valley
as one of 11 children and attended
junior high school in Shelton.
He lived in the Shelton area
until April of 1948, when enlisted
in the U.S. Army. He served in the
Korean War. He received a Purple
Heart and was honorably dis-
charged in June of 1951. He was a
former member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars in Longview and of
the Disabled American Veterans.
He was married to Lillian Cline
in Shelton on October 12, 1951‘ He
and his family lived in Shelton for
three years before moving to Shas»
ta County, California, where they
lived for 19 years. They moved
to McCleary in 1973‘
Mr. Woolsey enjoyed hunting,
fishing, music, playing his guitar,
gardening and cooking.
Survivors include his wife, Lil-
lian Woolsey of McCleary', his
daughters, Marlene Fillo ofAsotin,
Ruth House of Clarkston, Deana
Gerou of Clarkston, Wanda Willis
of Elma and Linda Jones of Elma;
his sons, Charles Woolsey of
Clarkston and Gary Woolsey of
Elma; his sister, Georgia Norwood
of Newpine, Oregon; 19 grandchil-
dren, four great-grandchildren
and numerous nieces and neph-
ews.
Bishop John Cook officiated at
graveside services held April 8 at
Shelton Memorial Park. Arrange-
ments were by McComb and Bat-
stone Funeral Home.
