But I didn't ever go to that, my daughter did, but not I.
Have you ever seen any photographs of your grandmother or
grandfather?
Yes, but I don't have them. I gave my side of the family to
my daughter and my grandchildren. My husband's family, we
sorted them all out and returned them to the families that they
represented. Because our daughter being adopted we felt that
they should go back to blood relatives. So that is what we
did. There is a picture of my grandmother, not my grandfather
though. They just have them stored for historic reasons.
Isithere:lany way we could see, or do yeu see any of these
relatives?
Well, yes, I'm going to go up there this week. They live
in Sunnyvale, the pictures are stored and I think it would
be rather difficult because it is in an attic which you go
up through a ladder and so forth. They have all been boxed
and stored and they want to keep them. I have a picture of
my mother, I have. Would like you to see it'?
Why yes!! Of course,
I wanted to ask you if by any chance the name Fanny
by any chance be the same person as Carrie Roe? Who
understand a physician.

I
No, I don't think so.
She was here in Pacific Grove but I think it was 20 years earlier.
Maybe she was a daughter. Carrie Roe had a kind of boarding :
house down on Forest Avenue.
I don't think it was the same person. My grandmother always looked
on her as having quite a bit of money and her religion was one of
those with laying on of hands and there still are cults that
preach on those lines. Those were her, it wasn't the usual
church.
The building where we have today the Scotch Bakery, the health
food store,next to Victorian Corner.
The jewelry store, Van Norden was where the health food store
is. It had clocks in the windows which I used to watch. And
then the Scotch Bakery, I don't believe I know what was in
there.
Muriel Byburn has a relative who used to own the Scotch Bakery
building and I don't remember what was there.
Prim and Proper was the Gilman Curio, and then it used to be
a restaurant too.
Can you tell us anything about Mr. Charles Tuttle?
