Roland Temple Services will be held Monday for Roland John Temple, aformer resi- dent of Shelton and a member of the Shelton Christian Fellowship Church. He died November 18 at the Veterans Administration Ho? pita] in Seattle. He was 71. He was born in Snoqualmie on June 14, 1923. He was a 1942 hon- ors graduate of Irene S. Reed High School in Shelton. He was a veter- an of the Korean War, having sewed in the US. Army Signal Corps from 1949-52. Mr. Temple graduated from Olympic College in 1957 with an associate in science degree. He then attended the University of Washington while employed by The Boeing Company. He received a bachelor of science degree in elec- trical engineering in 1964. As a resident of Shelton, he was an avid walker and a member of Chapter 1694 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Mason County Historical Society and the Friends of the Library Association. For the past 10 months Mr. Temple has been living at the 01d Soldiers Home in Orting. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Raymond E. Temple in 1969, his mother, Rose C. Temple in 1980 and his father, Floyd E. Temple in 1986. Survivors include his aunt, Marie DeRose of Tacoma; his brother, Norman E. Temple of Shelton; his sister, Shir> ley R, Frost of Vancouver; his nieces, Debbie Holloway of Olym- pia, Julie Lockwood of Vancouver, Robyn Henry of Yelm and Jackie Dahlgren of Renton; and 12 great nieces and great-nephews.
