N.Y., to Carl Herbert
and Florence (Krusa)
Vonhof.
He was in the Army
Air Corps, and was
honorably discharged
as a major in 1945.
Vonhof married
Dorothy Wittenberg
on Nov. 25, 2000, at
St. Edward’s Catholic
Church in Shelton. He
was previously married
to Shirley Abrams and
Mary Sydnor (both de-
ceased).
He was a mechanical
and industrial engineer
for Simpson Timber Co.
in Shelton.
He was also a private
pilot, Port of Shelton
commissioner, presi-
dent of Mason County
Community Concert As-
sociation and president
of Shelton Rotary Club.
He was involved with
Masterworks Choral
Ensemble and Faith
Lutheran Church, and
was treasurer of the
Shelton Flight Club.
He was a longtime
woodworker and furni-
ture maker, musician
and HAM radio opera—
tor.
He is survived by
wife Dorothy Vonhof
of Shelton; sister Ruth .
Ericksen of New Hol-
land, Pa.; sons Neil
Vonhof (Tracy Mills)
of Hawaii and John
Vonhof (Corinne Bak-
er) of Port Orchard;
grandson Christopher
(Ashley) Vonhof; great- ,
granddaughters Alexis,
Madison and Olivia;
nephew John Ericksen;
niece Lisa Ericksen;
and numerous stepchil-
dren.
A memorial service
will be at 2 p.m. on Jan.
25 at Faith Lutheran
Church. It will be of-
ficiated by pastor Steve
Olson.
Inurnment will take
place in Brooklyn, N.Y.
