year resident of Union, died from
a complication due to lung cancer
at Mason General Hospital on
Thursday, September 10‘ He was
77‘
He was born March 15, 1921 to
Fred and Eva (Shaw) Edinger in
Raymond
Mr‘ Edinger graduated from
Weatherwax High School in Aber-
deen in 1939.
He married Eileen Underwood
on July 26, 1942 at Our Savior‘s
Lutheran Church in Aberdeen.
That same year, he was enlisted
in the United States Army, where
he served in the 8th Infantry in
the European theater of war. He
was in one of the first National
Guard units from Shelton and re-
ceived the Combat Infantry
Badge. He was discharged in
1945‘
Mr. Edinger also worked for
the Rayonier Company in Shelton
from 1945 to 1956; for Shrader
Construction Company of Port-
land, Oregon, from 1956 to 1959;
for Alaska Lumber and Pulp
Company of Sitka, Alaska, from
1959 to 1963; and for Simpson
Timber in Shelton from 1963 to
1984.
He was a member of Independ-
ent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge
62 of Shelton, a lifetime member

lows Lodge 1 of Olympia, a mem-
ber of Faith Lutheran Church
since 1956, a member of Veterans
of Foreign Wars Post 1694 in
Shelton, past president of Shelton
Memorial Park and a member of
the Hood Canal School Board. He
also was past chairman of the Re—
publican Partyl
Mr, Edinger enjoyed riding mo-
torcycles, and he loved animals
and the out-oildoors
He is survived by his wife, Ei-
leen Edinger of Union; sons Ti-
mothy Edinger and his wife
Dolores of McKinney, Texas and
Warren Edinger Jr‘ and his wife
Terri of Union; and daughter
Sharon Edinger of Union. He is
also survived by his brother, Jo~
seph Edinger, of Westport; his
sister, Ruth Milbert, of Montesav
no; six granddaughters, Heather
Polson, Kelly Edinger, Brandi
Manke, Chelsi Edinger, Courtney
Baumgras and Miranda Baum»
gras; two great~grandchildren,
Emma Polson and Ethan Polson;
and numerous nieces and
nephews.
A memorial service was held
Monday, September 14, at Faith
Lutheran Church officiated by
Pastor Neil Thompson, Inurn—
ment will be held at Shelton Me-
morial Park at a later date.
Arrangements are under the
direction of McComb Funeral
Home.
