The Heritage Society of Pacific Grove is a nonprofit organization formed in 1975 to foster an appreciation of the city’s historical
and architectural resources through preservation activities and public education. The Heritage Society also works to encourage
the preservation and restoration of the buildings that contribute to the beauty and unique character of Pacific Grove.
The Preservation awards are given
annually to houses that have been
updated and repaired yet maintain
the existing form, integrity, and
materials. Remodel/Addition awards
are for houses that have also been well
preserved, but with new additions that
complement the original structure.
New Construction awards are given to
houses that have an exemplary design
compatible with the community of
Pacific Grove. All work must have been
completed within the last five years.
Pacific Grove residents and members
of the Heritage Society were asked for
nominations last spring, and a team of
judges made the final decisions.
