@411 Clayton A. ank Clayton A. “Joe” Rank died on Saturday, August 9, in Olympia, He was 86 and had lived in Shelton 63 years He was born on F e b ru a ry 22, 1922 to William and Alice [ D a r s o w) Rank in Boyd, Wis~ consin. H e served in the Army from 1940 to 1945 and was a Tech 5 at the time of his discharge. He married Beverly (Townsend) Rank on May 2, 1953 in Shelton, They were married 55 years. Mr. Rank lived at the family home for 54 years, and lived in Mason County for 63 years, He was the owner of Shel- ton Home Builders for more than 30 years, then ran the carpentry shop at Washing- ton Corrections Center from 1978 until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed volunteer- ing at the Shelton-Mason ‘3‘ Clayton Rank County Chamben of, Gum-fl .7 merce, woodworking, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, vegetable gardening, smelt» ing, crabbing, oysters, clam digging, dancing, delivering the weekly shopper, build- ing many local homes in the Shelton area and a visit by his pet seagulll He was a member of the 40 et and American Legion in She]- ton. Surviving are wife Bever~ ly Arlene (Townsend) Rank of Shelton; son Gene Q, Rank of Montesano; daugh- ter Jolene D, Scott and husband Jack of Shelton; sisters Rozanne Halama of Menomonee, Wisconsin, and Carol Tape of Boyceville, Wisconsin; fourr grandchil- dren, four great—grandchil- dren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Donna Parnell. Funeral services will be held at 11 3.11). on Friday, August 15, at Hope Chapel, 421 West E Street in Shel- tonl Burial will be at Shel- ton Memorial Park, Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
