Our maps and tax records show that the above structure was built in 1922
and the first owner of record was
Martin & Louise Alber
Other comments: J.C. Anthony, a Monterey builder, owned both lots 1 and 14, which were vacant
lots in 1921. He built 851 and 821 Gibson at the same time in late 1921 &
and early 1922. He sold both houses to the first owners, Martin & Louise
Alber. The Albers lived in 821 and sold 851 to the Smiths, who could not pay
the taxes. The Bank ended up with the house and sold it to Thompqon.
