Geneva W. Glaser
Geneva W. Glaser, 87, passed away
at Fir Lane Health and Rehabilita-
tion Center on May 28, 2006. She
was born on August 29, 1918 in
Galveston, TX to Karl and Augusta
(Flick) Wagner.
She married, had three children and
became a single mother. Geneva
worked ten years for the Veterans
Hospital in Silver City, NM and then
moved to Vallejo, CA and worked
for 20 years at Mare Island Naval
Shipyard which she retired from.
Geneva married Hugo "Bud" Glar
ser in 1974 and moved to Harst—
ine Island. She called it "Paradise
on earth". She was a member of
Harstine island Grange #568 for 32
years and became Master, Geneva 5-4 * Zap;
was very proud of the trophies that were won for the fair booths
she helped design. She also helped raise money for dictionaries
for grades 35 at Pioneer school and she also worked on scholar-
ship funds for many years.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, chasing antiques, playing pinochle,
cooking for family and friends and watching Mt. Rainier’s chang-
ing colors. ‘
Our Father in heaven blessed all of those who were ever touched
by Geneva. Her kindness and generosity were second to none.
Harstine Island at Ballow is a special piece of heaven and Geneva
knew she was home when she married Bud in 1974. She immedi-
ately became active in so many wonderful helpful causes. Family
and community was her dedication in life. Geneva always will be
remembered for her soft spoken voice and truly a lady in every
way.
Geneva is survived by her husband Hugo "Bud” Glaser of Shelton,
three daughters; Norma E. Kearby of American Canyon, CA, Sue
zan J. Felton and Pattie Gibson both of Shelton, two sons: Ralph
Gibbs of Colorado Springs, CO and Michael Glaser of Shelton, one
brother; Grover Wagner of Aurora, CO, 27 grandchildren, 24 great
grandchi!dren and 1 great, great granddaughter. She was preceded
in death by her daughter Sharon Rosenberg, son Vincent Glaser,
brothers Russell Wagner USMC killed in Vietnam, Lt. Frid Wagner
US Army retired and Roy Wagner, two sisters; Carol Wagner and
Drucy Ann Cunniham.
A memorial service will be held at the Harstine island Community
Hall on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at Mcr
Comb Funeral Home in Shelton on Thursday, June 1, 2006 from
8:00 am to 12:00 noon. A private inurnment service will be held at
l Ballow Cemetery on Harstine Island. A's/—Laa
