Our maps and tax records show that the above structure was built in 1905
and the first owner of record was Mrs. C. D. Smith
Other comments: Construction began in 1904 and ended in 1905. It was not built in 1895.
The Planning Dept uses estimates for construction dates. The lot is still
vacant on the 1897 map. Mrs. Smith was a banker and owned many homes in town
which were rented out to the many visitors to Pacific Grove.
