Max-Welton Stell ll (10 / H In Max-Welton Stell, a longtime resident of Union and Gig Har- bor, died Tuesday, November 18, in Tacoma. He was 82. He was born March 16, 1915, in Banks, Arkansas. Mr. Stell was a Navy pilot, teacher, humanitarian, entrepre» neur, adventurer and family man. He was married to his wife, Ei- leen Stell, for 43 years. She sur- vives him at their home in Union Also surviving are sons Max- Welton Stell Jr., Reid Stell and his wife Monica of Kirkland, Bruce Stell and his wife Shannon of Tacoma, and daughter Susan Wood and her husband Philip of Tacoma. Other survivors are sisters Ju- lia Green, Wanda Skees and Mona Block; brothers Harley Stell, Carroll Stell, David Stell and Larry Stell; and 11 grandchil- dren. He was preceded in death by son William Stell and brother Cone Stell. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 22, at Haven of Rest Chapel, High- way 16, Gig Harbor. Inurnment will be at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
