for Lucille Nash of Shelton. She
died January 11 at Fir Lane Ter-
race Convalescent Center, She
was 97‘
She was born in Iowa on De-
cember 17, 1898. Her mother,
Mable, was the oldest daughter of
George Fish Kelley, a Wesleyan
Methodist Episcopal horse and
buggy circuit preacher, according
to Jim Nash of Sequim. Mable
died when Mrs. Nash was 31/2
years old and she was then reared
by Catholic nuns in Colorado.
She taught school in Oregon
and during the summers worked
in a Kodak camera shop in Sea-
side, Oregon.
She was married to Walter
Nash in Oregon. Their son, Jim,
was born in Portland. Mr. and
Mrs. Nash moved quite often be-
fore settling in Shelton in 1939.
In Shelton Mr. Nash and his
brother, Al, started Nash Broth-
ers Appliance Storel Mrs. Nash
Worked there as a receptionist,
bookkeeper and secretary.
The brothers sold the store to
George Valley in 1956 and for a
while Mr. Nash built homes in
Shelton. They then moved to
Ohio, where Mr. Nash was a pro»
duct developer and salesman for a
company that manufactured labor
saving residential heating ducts.
Mrs. Nash worked as her hus-
band’s girl Fridayl They moved to
a plant site in Detroit Lakes,
North Dakota, and lived there un—
til they retired to Shelton in 1968.
Mr. Nash was a past comman-
der of the Shelton post of the
American Legion, a past presi-
dent of the chamber of commerce
and one of the founders of the
Mason County Forest Festival.
Mrsl Nash was a member of a
business women‘s sorority, the
Eastern Star, the American Le»
gion Auxiliary and the Methodist
church.
Mr. Nash preceded her in
deathAin 1981. Survivors include
her son, Jim Nash; her grandchil—
dren, Susan Mason and Sally
Nash of Sequim and William
Nash of Phoenix, Arizona; and
her great—grandchildren, Stepha-
nie and Heidi MammotSeqaim.
The Reverend Steve Schroeder
will officiate at memorial services
scheduled to begin at 1 pm. on
January 20 at Fir Lane Terrace
Convalescent Center. George Val-
ley will make some comments at
that time. Interment will be in
Shelton. Arrangements are by
McComb Funeral Home.
