The Heritage Society of Pacific Grove P. O. Box 1007 Pacific Grove, CA 93950 Date: July 8, 1999 TO: Catherine Coleman 480-482 Laurel Pacific Grove, CA 93950 RE: Address: 480/482 Laurel Subdivision: 1st Addition to Retreat Block: 29 Lot: 20,18 Our maps and tax records show that the above structure was first assessed in: 1885 This means the structure was actually built early in that year, or late in the previous year. The first owner of this structure, according to the County's assessor's records was: T.P. Heath Other Comments: Address was really 220 13th through at least 1936. Structure was always a house. It was originally built as a wooden board and batten structure. According to building permits, a board and batten garage was built in April 1926 and the stone foundation and veneer was added in January 1936. The owner in 1936 was H.E. Kline and he estimated $400 for the stone work. Unfortunately I cannot locate any early photos of this house. Nor do we any info on the early owners. Plaaue Status: El Structure is eligible for a plague and one will be made up for you at no charge. You will be notified when plague is ready. It could take 4 to 6 months. El Structure is eligible for plague, but it must be requested by the owner. Structure is not eligible for a plague at this time because: Remodeled out of character.
