Details on the Plapp family: (all buried at the Pacific Grove Cemetery near the Light House at Point Pinos. Karl Charles Plapp, Feb 15,1861 -July 20,1925 Friederike (Frieda) Karoline Plapp. Feb 7,1872-Apr 18,1942 Karl Gottlieb Plapp Jul 13,1894-Feb 15,1955 Reinhold Edwin. Plapp, Nov 12,1895-Mar 26,1945 Emil Edgar Plapp, Feb 14,1897-Mar 30,1976 Adolph August Plapp, Jul 18, 1898-Jun 11, 1976 Wife: Agnes Costa (no children)(dates unknown) Albert Eugene Max Plapp, Feb 19,1901-Apr 12,1988 Otto (Babe) William Plapp, Sep 11, 1903-Jul 3,1987 Karl served in the U.S. Army, WWI in France Reinhold service in the U.S. Army, WWI Emil served iii the U.S. Navy, WW1, ships includes USS MERCY and the gunboat USS ONTARIO in China Adolph served in the U.S. Army WWI and WWII as an interrupter and traveled all over the United States from one German prison camp to another. Albert served in the U.S, Navy, WWII, mainly on tugboats in San Francisco Harbor. later he was on U.S. Merchant Marine Ships. Otto served in the U.S. Navy WWII Charles Plapp died in 1925 in an accident when a stump puller broke and hit him in the head, pulling stumps working for the 17 Mile Drive Association. The remainder of the family died of natural causes. All of the boys, after their military service, worked on the Peninsula either in the fish canneries or as general labors, with the exception of Emil, who suffered some type of injury during the war and was not able to work. Reinhold was deeply involved with the Pacific Grove fire department. which was volunteers the time.
