Charles Plapp died in 1925 in an accident when a stump puller broke and hit him in the head, pulling
stumps working for the 17 Mile Drive Association. The remainder of the family died of natural
causes. All of the boys, after their military service, worked on the Peninsula either in the fish
canneries or as general labors, with the exception of Emil, who suffered some type of injury during the
war and was not able to work. Reinhold was deeply involved with the Pacific Grove fire department.
which was volunteers the time. Albert was involved with model ship building and repairs, as well as
nautical history. many articles have been written about his work and knowledge. especially o f old
square rigged sailing ships
