This striking 2 1/2 story manor house was built in 1909 for John R Pryor,
an early mayor of Pacific Grove. The house features an irregular roof line
with dormers, twin corner lowers, and a long second story balcony rising
above the huge hand-hewn stone base that seats the house in the cypress-
enclosed yard. The leaded and beveled glass doorway and windows in
the entry and the second stairway in the back of the house (for children
and maids) are some ofthe unusual details. The home faces the Bay across
from Berwick Park.
