Former Shelton realdent Don-
da Waggoner died Saturday, De-
cember 22, at Tri-Cities Chap-
laincy Hospice of Kennewicki She
was 55 and a resident of Sunny-
side,
She was born September 8,
1946 in Shelton to Don and Anita
(Hurst) Saegeri
She married Don Waggoner on
June 14, 1983 in Presser.
She received a bachelor‘s de-
gree in psychology and social sci-
ence in 1990 and a master’s of ed-
ucation in counseling in 1995‘
She made the dean’s list and na-
tional dean’s list and was rec-
ognized by the Who’s Who Among
American College Students.
Mrs. Waggoner was employed
as a counselor at Lower Valley
Crisis and Support Services in
Sunnyside at the time of her
death. In 1989, she worked as a
financial aid counselor for Herit-
age College in Toppenish. The
year before, she worked as a ther-
apeutic child care teacher for
Sunnyside Epic.
She enjoyed traveling, dancing
and music, and loved her work
and people.
She was a member of the
Washington State Mental Health
Counselors, Sunnyside Eagles,
Sunnyside Promise and Saint Jo-
seph Catholic Church.
Sim; preceded in death by
her father, Don Saeger and a
brother, Matthew Saeger.
Survivors include her husband,
Don Waggoner of Sunnyside; chil-
dren Merrill Danford of Korea,
Glen Danford and Elizabeth Wag-
goner of Sunnyside, Debra De-
Long and her husband Clif of
Vancouver, Sheila Waggoner of
Grandview, Teresa Tucker of Zil-
lah, and Gregory Waggoner and
his wife Lori of Eagle River, Alas-
ka
Also surviving are eight grand-
children; mother Anita Saeger of
Shelton; sisters Cathy Cochran of
Olympia and Beverly Widdle of
Methow; brother Alan Saeger of
Shelton; and special friend and
sister-in-law Ricki Tebaldi of
Washington.
A funeral service and rosary
will be recited at 6 p.m. ,Thurs~
day, December 27, at Smith Fu-
neral Home in Sunnyside, A mass
of Christian burial will be held at
noon Friday, December 28, at
Saint Joseph Catholic Church in
Sunnyside. Burial will be at Low-
er Valley Memorial Gardens in
Sunnyside. .
Arrangements are under the
direction of Smith Funeral Home
in Sunnyside.
Memorials may be made to
Lower Valley Crisis and Support
Services in Sunnyside.
