on Friday, October 23, to en-

highly anticipated Homecom-
ing game.
Over 4,000 people filled the
stands at Viking Stadium while
dozens of others were spread
all over the field.
Not only was it Homecoming
which brings with it the annual
Senior Run with the Chicken
and the announcement of this
year’s royalty but the game was
televised live on ESPN-U.
The Vikes played against the
Kamiak Knights, who were
undefeated for the season un-
til they came up against the
mighty Vikings on the brightly
lit field and in front of several
television cameras and thou-
sands of screaming purple and
gold fans.
The Knights scored one
touchdown the entire game in
the second quarter.
The Vikings, however, scored
nine touchdowns and earned
every extra point pushing the
score up to 63-7.
Eason had a terrific night
running in one of the touch-
downs himself. He threw the
ball easily into the open arms
of the waiting offensive play-
ers. The defense played a
strong game as well as keeping
the Knights from getting even
close to the end zone.
The half-time show started
with the Lake Stevens High
School Band and the cheer-
leaders in center field.
While they played, this year’s
Homecoming Royalty was
driven around the track in an-
tique cars depositing them in
front of their awaiting parents
and a welcoming crowd of su-
perfans.
