He was born October 5, 1930,
in Fremont, Nebraska, to Ralph
and Amelia (Vogel) Bishops He
grew up in Malin, Oregon, and
graduated from Malin High
School in 1949.
He served in the Marine Corps
from 1951 to 1953.
He and his wife, Gwen, were
married November 19, 1998, in
Shelton.
He retired after 10 years from
the United States Department of
Defense in 1994. Before then, he
worked for the US, Forestry De
partment and Boeing.
He was a member of the Eagles
in Auburn.
Survivors include his Wife,
Gwen; sons Ron of Eatonville,
Randy of Spanaway and Ken of
West Richland; stepsons Jeff of
Des Moines and Craig of Sumner;
stepdaughter Jennifer of Tacoma;
brothers Larry, Ralph and John,
all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota;
sister Barbara of Sioux Falls; 11
grandchildren; and one great-
grandchild.
There will be a celebration of
his life from 1-4 pm. June 3, at
the family home,
