while serving in the US.

and he married Linda Shiv-
er in 1981.

operated Hood Canal Sea-
food since 1975 and South
County Towing since 2002.
He lived and loved the
water, spending much
.time operating the boom
tug NuShu, oyster barges
and his private vessels, the
Linda Ann and the Lath-
anya.
Mr. Lakenes was preced-
ed in death by his parents,
He is survived by daugh-
ters Kimberly Ajax and hus—
band Mark, Tammi Patter-
son and husband Jamie and
Lathanya Lakenes; sons
Kirk Jr. and Jeremy Lak-
enes; grandchildren Juicyn-
da Ajax, Ruth Ann and Shy-
ann Patterson and Derek
Ajax; twin brother Louie
Lakenes and wife Robin;
nephew Louie Lakenes; and
nieces Tina Lakenes and
Shannon Bishop.
A celebration of life for

the Quilcene School Multi—
