Whatstartedoutasan1883 tent house had evolved intoa duplexfromwhichmanyof theYrctorian features had been removed. The designer-contractorfirmofStocker&Allaire wasretained. Duringtheco~rrseof there>Ywdel many rernnarâ–ºts of thepastsurfaced. Evidenceof atleast8models,a majorfireand handpaintedwallpaperonlinenwerediscovered. Theduplexwas re-~,onfiguredintoasinglefamilyresider~ewiththreesbedroomsand threebaths. Manydetailswereaddedtothehousewhichthede- ~gnerandownersfeltweresympathetic to theoriginsof thehouse. Portionsof a1925PebbleBeachpantrywereutilizedinthekitchen andtwo stained glasswindowsof theownerswereincorporated into thehouse. Thecolorful gardens helptoextend thelivingspaceto the outdoorbrickpatioanddeckabove thecarport. The goalof restoring thehouseinto agracioushomewasaccomplished. R. J. F. Thecurrent owners,Les&JayneSchwartz, haveopened up twobedroomsand added a bathroom tocreate the mastersuite. Alsoaddedwerewindowstogiveanoceanviewand anextra dormer tobalancre thefront of the house. Theironbed in the guestroombelonged to jayne'sgrandmother. Jayneslept initasa child visitinggrandma'shouse. Theold family photographswere mostly taken inSanJosein thetwentiesorearlier.
