Bakersfield College Slates, Tryouts for Christmas Play An Elizabethan comedy for the Christmas season will be presented by the China Lake branch of Bakersfield College. Try-outs and a general meet- ing for those interested in act- ing or the technical side of pro- duction have been set for B p.m. ()n October 4 and 5 in the Multi- Use Room of Burroughs High School. The play, which calls for 12 men and five women, is to be directed by John Lawson, in- structor in English and speech and drama at the local college. There are also parts for several boys from 10 to 15 years old, ac- cording to Mr. Lawson. Those attending the meetings next Thursday and Friday need not now be enrolled in the col- lege, Dean Scheidt said.
