foster son, Keith Murphy, 17, are
being held in the Mason County
Jail, and will be arraigned in
K Mason County Superior Court at
9 am, today. The younger Fair-

MURPHY, WHO fled the
scene, was arrested Wednesday
morning at a motel in Centralia.
Both youths, according to the
sheriffs office, have admitted
murdering Faircloth.
Mason County sheriff’s officers,
notified of the killing by a 16—
year—old youth who also lived in
the home, found Faircloth’s muti-
side road on McEwan Prairie on
Sunday morning.
Marvin Faircloth was identi-

County Superior Court. Prosecu-

The youngster who contacted
the sheriff’s office, according to
the arresting affidavit, told depu»
ties Mark Merod and Douglas
Smith that he heard the sounds
of a struggle downstairs and
heard the victim say, “Call the
police!” However, the youngster
said that there was no phone
upstairs and he was afraid to
leave the room because the 18-
year-old had told him to stay
there.
HE ALSO TOLD deputies
that Marvin Faircloth and
Murphy made him assist in
cleaning up the living room and
putting Frank Faircloth’s body in
the garage. He also reported see-
ing the younger Faircloth take a
knife from his father’s body. He
heard him and Murphy discuss
breaking out the dead man’s
teeth and burning his body, the
report indicated that the boy told
Keith Murphy
the investigating officers.
Later, deputies were told, the
two put Faircloth’s body into his
Mercury Cougar and left. Depu»
ties followed tire tracks onto a
dirt road off McEwan Prairie
Road, which leaves Brockdale
Road close to the Oak Park devel»
opment where the foster family
lived.
They saw smoke and located
the body, then found the car
parked nearby, the affidavit indi-

Deputy Merod’s canine assis-

and then back toward Oak Park.
MEANWHILE, THE officers‘
report indicated, Marvin Faircloth
had returned to the Oak Park
area, entered a friend‘s home,
changed clothes and hid in a
closet until he was found by the
friend’s mother. Told that police
were looking for him, he returned
to 21 Redwood Court, and was
arrested outside the house.
