Robert F. Eacrett
Robert F. Eacrett, a Grapeview
resident since 1988 and a retired
teacher, died Tuesday, January
21, at his home. He was 69.
He was born April 26, 1933 in
Port Angeles to Francis A, and
Anne L. (Eckert) Eacrett, His
father later ran Eacrett Lumber
in Shelton.
He attended school in Shelton
prior to continuing his education
at Western Washington State
College, where he received a
bachelor’s degree in education He
also played baseball at the Bel-
lingham college.
Mr. Eacrett served in the Navy
during the Korean War.
He married Shirley Di Dodds
on June 11, 1954 in Shelton.
He taught school in Shelton for
two years before teaching 28
years in Oak Harbor. He coached
football for 15 years and also ofli-
ciated at football games. He re-
tired from teaching in 1987 and
moved back to Shelton the follow-
ing year.
He had been a distributor for
the Stretch Island Fruit Leather
Company for 20 years. He was a
member of the retired teachers
association and enjoyed boating,
cutting firewood and, especially,
watching his grandsons play
sports.
Survivors include his wife,
Shirley D, Eacrett of Grapeview;
daughter Lorene R. Marshall of
Oak Harbor; sons Michael R. Ea»
erett of Grapeview and Steven F,
Eacrett of Lake Stevens; brother
Kenneth Eacrett of Phoenix, Ari»
zona; and four grandchildren,
A memorial service will be held
at 1 p.133. Saturday, February 1,
at Hope Chapel, 421 West E
Street in Shelton.
