Amanda Lee Taylor of Shelton
died Thursday, December 7, at
Mason General Hospital, She was
98.
Mrs. Taylor was born Novem-
ber 8, 1897 in Bell Farm, Ken-
tucky, to Peter and Helen
(Blevins) Spradlin.
She and her family moved to
Washington when she was 8. She
graduated from Montesano High
School in 1918, She attended
Grays Harbor Business College
for one year and was employed by
the Grays Harbor County Treas»
urer’s office until her marriage.
She married Robert L. Taylor Oc-
tober 16, 1920,
She and her husband operated
a dairy farm for many years The
farm was established in 1892 by
her late father-in-law, John H,
Taylori In addition to operating
the farm, the Taylors operated a
retail milk delivery business un«
der the name of Wynoochee Home
Farm Dairyi
Mrs‘ Taylor was a 77-year
member of the Wynoochee Exten-
sion Homeowners Club, a 72-year
charter member of the Wynoochee
Valley Grange 801, a 4-H leader,
a previous Wynoochee Valley re-
porter for the Montesano Vidette
and a member of Montesano
Chapter 21 of the Order of the
Eastern Star,
She lived most of her life in
Montesano and the Wynoochee
Valley. She lived in Shelton for
five years,
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Robert Taylor, on
July 26, 1965 and by four broth-
ers, Ern, Gene, Tom and Ed
Spradlin.
Mrs, Taylor is survived by her
daughter, Iris Jean (Mrs. John)
Schumacher of Shelton; three
grandchildren, Jeanne K. Kellner
of Kent, Patrick J Meservey of
Plymouth, Minnesota, and Robert
L Meservey of Portland, Oregon;
three step-grandchildren, John
and Ed Schumacher and Jeanie
Johnson of Aberdeen; six great
grandchildren; seven step-great—
grandchildren; . 'i'ste‘r, Helen
Her-mans, qf,Walnut Creek, Cali-
fornia; and numerous nieces and
nephews.’
A funeral service was held
Tuesday, December 12, at the
Whiteside Funeral Chapel in
Montesano.
Arrangements were by White-
side Funeral Chapel of Montesa-
no.
