Cliffie E. “Kay” Calkins, 83,
died at Fir Lane Terrace
Convalescent Center on Sunday,
January 3. She was born on
January 26, 1898 in Oskaloosa,
Missouri.
Mrs. Calkins had been a
Shelton resident since 1944 and
had been formerly employed as a
cook at the old Wilson Cafe. She
was a member of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church
Her husband, Harry, preceded
her in death in 1971.
There will be a Visitation for
family and friends tonight,
Thursday, January 7, at Batstonc
Frmeral Horne, between 7 and 8
pm.
Surviving her are her
daughters, Helen Robinson of
Sequirn and June Rodgers of
Shelton; sons Seth Ni “Bud”
Chesley of Bozernan, Montana
and John D. Chesley of Morgan,
Utah; sisters, Cora Rauscher and
Pearl Ristine, both of Shelton;
brothers Joseph and John W,
Luhm, both of Shelton;
stepdaughters 011i Weniz, Beverly
Townsend and Tiny Aaron, all of
Shelton; stepson Harvard “Buzz"
Calkins of Shelton; 10
grandchildren; and 11
great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are
scheduled for 1 pm. Friday,
January 8, at Garden Chapel of
the Shelton Memorial Park with
Pastor Bruce Moore officiating,
Burial will be in Shelton
Memorial Park. Batstone Funeral
Home is in charge of
