Ken L. O’Dell
Ken L, O’Dell, a Shelton resi-
dent for 47 years, died of kidney
failure Friday, February 14, in
Olympia. He was 68.
He was born
August 20, 1934
in Montgomery,
Pennsylvania, to
Kenneth Floyd
and Annabelle
C e l e s t i a
(Houser) O’Dell.
He served in
the Navy during
the Korean War
and was a hospi-
tal corpsman
first class at the

He married
Pauline (Leege) O’Dell on June
30, 1955 in Williamsport, Penn-
sylvaniai
Mr. O’Dell worked for Simpson
Timber Company as a log leader
from 1960 to 1985, then worked
in Simpson’s plywood plant from
1985 to 1996 when he retired.
He enjoyed coaching baseball,
bowling, golfing, woodworking
and puttefing around and build-
ing things.
He was a member of the Veter-
ans of Foreign Wars Post in Shel—
ton, Shelton Men’s Bowling Hall
of Fame, Rainier Rovers Trailer
Club and Boy Scouts. He was sec-
retary of the Men’s Bowling Asso-
ciation in Shelton and was very
involved with the Simpson Recre-
ation Association where he was
secretary and ran the associa-
tion’s annual bowling tournament
in Portland, Oregon. He was
named Shelton Man of the Year
in the 1960s
Survivors include his Wife,
Pauline O’Dell of Shelton; sons
Kenneth W. O‘Dell of Atlanta,
Georgia, Scott E. O’Dell of Shel-
ton and James W. O’Dell and his
wife Janet of Graham; brother
David O’Dell and his wife Bea of
Mishawalia, Indiana; sister San-
dra Lockout? and her husband Les
ofWilliamsport, Pennsylvania; fa-
ther Kenneth F. OfDell of South
Williamsport, Pennsylvania;
three grandchildren and numer»
ous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held
at 3 pm. Tuesday, February 25,
at Hope Chapel, 421 West E
Street in Shelton. A representa-
tive of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars will officiate.
