Lake Stevens Location
Fifty years ago, growing up
in Lake Stevens meant beauti-
ful sunsets, hanging out with
good friends, and of course,
summers practically living on
the lake. With those memories
comes that of the Sheriff’s boat
that used to patrol the waters
of Lake Stevens with flashing
lights and all.
Lifetime Lake Stevens resi-
dent Dave Warrick is one of
those guys who fondly, or
maybe vividly is a better word,
remembers the wooden ves-
sel with Sheriff Einer Carlson
used to troll the lake in watch-
ing for unsafe boaters or folks
who may be having some trou-
ble.
While going through her fa-
ther’s garage, Carlson’s daugh-
ter Diana unveiled the boat,
which was in need of some ten-
der loving care and she quickly
thought of Warrick.
“This was the first boat to pa-

in 1956,” Warrick explained.

Senior Master Sergeant Erin
L. Daughtry-McPherson will
be center stage at the first Mu-
sic on the Lake of 2018 on Sat-

McPherson is the 4 foor 10
inch sister of City Council-
member Kim Daughtry who
helped influence McPherson
and the Air National Guard
band to play for residents of
our community.
The Air National Guard Band
of the West Coast supports the
global Air Force, including Air
National Guard missions, by
fostering patriotism and pro-
viding musical services for the
military community as well as
the general public.
They perform for audiences
all over the world, although we
primarily serve communities
throughout California and the
West Coast.

mers, accountants, engineers,
and law enforcement officers.
Under the command of Ma-
jor Vu Nguyen, band members
meet two days a month to re-
hearse and perform. They also
participate in an annual two-
week summer tour.
McPherson, a soloist with
the band, served in the mili-
tary for 24 years and has an
extensive history of serving
her country. She has received
numerous awards and medals
for her service.
Her musical history includes
being a soloist who performs
the National Anthem, the 562nd
Air Force Band and, a vocalist
with the concert band “Patriots
in Blue”, as well as the protocol
jazz combo “Drop Zone”.
She has had, “a non-tradi-
tional but superior Air Nation-
al Guard education,” McPher-
son’s biography says.
Just five years ago she vol-
unteered for a non-band de-
ployment where she supported
Operation Enduring Freedom
where she was deployed to
Kandahar Airfield in Afghani-
stan.
Helping improve the lives of
others is a passion for McPher-
son. In her off-duty time she
works as a hypnotherapist
serving those who suffer with
Post Traumatic Stress Disor-
der, anxiety, stress, sleep dis-
orders and smoking addiction.
McPherson will be the vocal-
ist this Saturday with the Air
Force National Guard Band on
the stage at Lundeen Park.
During the annual tour, the
band functions as an active-
duty band, rehearsing, travel-
ing, and performing.
As musical ambassadors, the
Air National Guard Band of
the West Coast is proud to rep-
resent the State of California,
the Air National Guard, and
the United States Air Force.
