Unidentified Cottage in Early Pacific Grove
The quintessence ofearly Pacific Grove is suggested by this undated
photograph. The persons are resting outside the cottage, along the
path to the assembly ground or church (now the Chautauqua Hall).
The retreat allowedjust the cottage and an outdoor privy: no stables
or chicken coops. Note the laundry on the line.
Someone has suggested that this cottage is on Carmel Avenue. Can
anyone confirm this? Notify the Board and Batten.
